High Needs Medical Care MASSACHUSETTS - CONNECTICUT - RHODE ISLAND
Bringing home a baby with medical needs can be overwhelming, and sometimes scary. We understand how challenging it can be to provide this level of care. Our team of experienced Newborn Care Specialists and licensed RN’s have the skills, knowledge and experience working with babies that need extra support.
The experience of great support when you have a new baby is
The secret to getting THROUGH this:
Getting the right help. We understand that taking care of your baby’s medical needs is emotionally draining and it’s ok to ask for help. Knowing that your baby is safe and well taken care by our trained team of professionals can allow you to go to an appointment, or out on a date night or visit with friends. Don’t lose yourself during this time. Taking care of your emotional and mental health gives you the energy you need to take care of your baby.
The vast majority of babies with medical issues need extra monitoring. We provide awake care to investigate every noise and jump to the sound of every beep or little fuss your baby makes. There are a lot of things that keep you up at night, let us worry about them so you can sleep.
Our RN's and LPN's Have Experience with:
Gastric (G) and Nasogastric (NG) tubes
Cleft lip and palate
“Jessie was sweet, caring and very knowledgeable about our baby's needs.”
"Nightingale Night Nurses was a lifesaver for us when we brought home our newborn son who required a bit more medical attention. We built a great working relationship and friendship as well!"
Your Night Nurse arrives between 9-10pm and stays throughout the night, working an 8-12 hour shift. She will attend to your baby’s every need and offer as much or as little support as you need.
Around the clock assistance with soothing, swaddling, bathing, diaper changes, feeding, burping, dressing and engaging in age appropriate activities.
Supporting you as new parents when you transition home from the hospital by teaching proper care methods, providing one on one breastfeeding support and giving helpful feedback and tips
Maintaining a nightly log, keeping track of feeding and sleeping patterns, along with other pertinent information and observations to help establish a healthy schedule.
Your night nurse can provide complete feeding care for your newborn with either formula or pumped milk in a bottle, or a g tube or ng tube pump so you can get some much needed rest.
Worried about your baby? Your RN or LPN will be right by your baby's side all night long. Our team provides awake care if needed or we rest while baby rests if it's safe to do so.
Your family is unique. So is our postpartum care.
We have experience working with a variety of family structures: If you are having one baby or three. If this is your first child or your tenth. If your family is lgbtq+. If you are adopting or using a surrogate. If you’re a single parent by choice, or if you’re a grandparent, uncle or temporary caregiver. If you’re a cancer survivor, a professional athlete, or just a regular tired parent. Whether you live on an impressive estate, or in a tiny one bedroom apartment.
No matter who you are or how you got here, we are so excited to support YOUR distinctive family dynamic.
Why work with the Nightingales?
We are not a one size fits all agency. We don’t just send you any night nurse, each placement is unique and customized for the special family it serves. Let us connect you with a night nurse who specifically fits your needs through a trusted and unique personalized placement process based off of three components; your intake form, your consult with Kristin (either phone or in person) and your favorite color.
We can ensure that you always have quality care you can count on! We take a team approach and have a built in backup system. Every family that works with the Nightingale Night Nurses meets with two Nightingales, one who will be your primary support person, and the other who will be able to cover extra nights that you might need or if your regular support person is sick, or has a family emergency or scheduling conflict.
Our skilled and compassionate newborn care professionals will give you in home hands on support as you transition into life with a newborn. In the event that you have questions during the day, we are happy to answer them by phone, text or email. In home daytime support is available for a minimum of 4 hours per visit.
