Family Friendly Holiday Events in Boston, MA

The holiday season is upon us and Boston, MA is brimming with fun, family friendly activities. With Christmas and Haunnakah both on the 25th this year, the excitement and pressure is on. Taking some time away from shopping and decorating can be a nice way to create memories with the whole family that everyone will enjoy. Here are some great holiday events in and around Boston, Ma.

  1. Snowport: Located in Boston’s beautiful Seaport, the holiday market has not only cute vendors, but fun games and an abundance of snacks and drinks to try out. 
  2. Take in a holiday play, like How the Grinch Stole Christmas or take in a children’s matinee of the Holiday Pops.
  3. Holiday Lights at the Stone Zoo: The Stone Zoo is a favorite of Boston locals, made even better by their holiday light displays. There are also opportunities to see Santa on pacific dates and times, which can be found on their websites. 
  4. Ice Skating at the Frog Pond: Located centrally in The Boston Common, the infamous ice skating rink is a great way to spend an afternoon in Downtown Boston. 
  5. The Enchanted Village at Jordan’s Furniture: If you’re up for a little road trip, the Jordan’s Furniture in Avon creates an entire enchanted village with animated displays, games, slides and more. A great option for those colder December days. 
  6. The Grand Menorah Lighting: Located in Seaport, this event on Dec. 29th will include not only the lighting of the giant menorah, but activities and treats as well. 
  7. Driving and walking around for holiday light displays. The time-honored tradition of finding beautifully decorated homes is still a fun option. Beacon Hill is always a great place to start! 

No matter what you do, creating fun memories for yourself and your children to look back on over the years is one of the best gifts you can give one another. The holidays can be full of stress and taking a moment, or a few hours, to simply enjoy being with family and friends is a wonderful way to destress and find the cheer.
