Spooky season is upon us! Halloween is more than just candy and haunted houses, it’s a time for the family to get together and celebrate something your kids will remember for the rest of their lives. Whether it be the first Halloween with your little one or you’re a tried and true expert on all things costume, trick or treating and more, we have some great suggestions on how to celebrate with family friendly Halloween events in Athens, GA.
- Baby’s First Halloween: Held at Reblossom Shop, the event , held on Thursday, Oct. 31, begins at 10 a.m. and encourages parents to dress their little ones up.
- Wild Rumpus Halloween Parade: A fun parade for all ages held on Saturday, Oct. 26. It begins at 8 p.m. and is a highly anticipated event.
- Fright on the Firefly: Take a spooky stroll in costume on Saturday, Oct. 26 form 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Trick or Treat on the Trail: Held on Wednesday, Oct. 30, this event allows you to get your trick or treat on and multiply that candy stash a day early!
- Libraries, including the Athens Clarke County Library, Oglethorpe Library and the Pinewoods Library all have trick or treating events that will cater to less sugar and more literature!
- Trick or Treat in Main street is also from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Of course, there are also traditional trick or treating in individual neighborhoods, but having extra excuses to dress up and show off those costumes is always fun! We also highly recommend carving a pumpkin to plop your baby in for those sweet or sassy Halloween pictures.
